I listened to From Under the Cork Tree on the way to work this morning. I’m convinced it’s like the best most intricately produced album of all time. I want to make something that sounds that good. For instance, there are 3 part harmonies of “ahhh”s hidden in the chorus of Sugar, We’re Going Down that you can barely hear, but they’re totally there. And then there’s this ridiculously cool chunky drum-fill-esque palm mute pattern before the last chorus of Dance, Dance. Not to mention it’s fucking brilliant lyrically. Makes me feel fuzzy, especially in conjunction with coffee. I really hope they come around here soon.
